Hot Disk® Instrument: Hot Disk M1

The Hot Disk M1 introduces a fundamental yet precise approach to measuring Thermal Conductivity, Thermal Diffusivity, Thermal Effusivity, and Specific Heat Capacity. While designed for simplicity, it excels at efficiently testing materials within the Thermal Conductivity range of 0.03 to 40 W/m/K, encompassing solids, powders, and pastes. Operating at temperatures between 10°C and 40°C, the M1 is an optimal choice for applications that require accuracy and repeatability. Partly based on ISO 22007-2 and bearing the CE marking, the M1 offers quality assurance in thermal analysis.

Simplified Thermal Analysis for Laboratories

The Hot Disk M1 efficiently evaluates thermal conductivity and diffusivity for moderately sized isotropic samples. It caters to samples with a minimum diameter (or square) of 40 mm and a minimum thickness of 10 + 10 mm. Larger samples can be accommodated with minimal preparations involving a flat surface on each specimen, ensuring precise sensor placement. Additionally, the M1 enables single-sample testing using an insulating sensor support.

Software-Enhanced Analysis

Operating on the same robust Windows-based software as advanced Hot Disk instruments, the M1 provides in-depth data analysis capabilities that are exceptional for its category. Furthermore, its wireless operation through an RS-232 to WiFi adapter adds flexibility and portability to its functionality. The comprehensive M1 package includes the core unit, a Hot Disk Kapton sensor (#8563, radius 9.9 mm), sample holder, stainless steel verification samples, and Windows software. An optional WiFi accessory is available upon request.
